Immensely sad, tragic, and disturbing but painlfully true, Susan. The list of human conflict and wars is insanely long over mankind's history. Millions of lives lost. Our dear friend from Macedonia experienced the stress and chaos of these particular events so close to home. Finally meeting her, after a year of communicating and sharing my art and our Arizona and Utah National Parks, was an incredible experience. Lovely people from every country on our planet yet insane leaders constantly lead their countries to conflict and war. Well deserved award, Susan!....fav / like
Susan Esbensen replied:
Amen too everything you wrote Jerry! If only we collectively raised our level of consciousness, this would no longer exist! It would no longer be acceptable! Thank you Jerry for your great comment and support!

Susan, this work is filled with powerful emotion. The way you paint (flow of paint...textures, colors) is superb for such feelings and mood.
Susan Esbensen replied:
Thank you Randol! This piece is several years old, but unfortunately is still relevant.

A stark image of the insanity of endless violence - we inflict upon each other - continued throughout history - and even worse, to this very day... It is good that you posted this image, as it may cause certain people to think of what ghastly things they are doing.
Jeff Breiman
Very strong art. Liked.
Susan Esbensen replied:
Thanks Jeff! I was reticent about posting this piece, so all positive feedback is inspiring! :)

Ain't that the truth! I love how you have done this painting, the concept, and the expressionism of it! v/f!!!

Susan, This is a very emotive piece. Love the real barbed wire. Obviously, something bad is going to happen soon. Wrong place. Wrong time. Well done.
Joel Bruce Wallach
Yikes - you've captured this tragic mood with evocative depth and power, Susan!
Susan Esbensen replied:
Thanks Joel! Sad, but true! The sister painting to this one will be posted soon.
