The Myth: The Illusion Of Separation! Accepted into 'Against All Odds," exhibition at the Trenton City Museum in conjunction with the Paul Robeson House in Princeton and the African American Collaborative of Mercer County, New Jersey. Exhibits on Display ￿ July 9 ￿ September 11, 2016 The Center for Contemporary Art 2016 Members￿ Juried Exhibition at Gallery W. Juror: Heather Cammarata-Seale Exhibition Dates: January 22 ￿ February 27, 2016 From time immemorial humanity has suffered from the illusion that we exist as separate entities, families, nationalities, religions, races, etc. These labels have institutionalized and organized the divisions among members of the human race. Paul Robeson travelled to Russia in the mid 1930￿s. There he was quoted as saying, "I felt for the first time a full human being. Deep within my spirit lies the need to express myself. Through my art I am able to continue this process and strive for ways to improve my craft. My paintings are a contemporary fusion. I allow them to go in a number of directions from loose, to a more representational style. Not easily classified, my art embodies aspects of Abstract, Expressionism, Impressionism, Symbolism, and Surrealism. A true reflection of my own multi-dimensional nature.
