From time immemorial humanity has suffered from the illusion that we exist as separate entities, families, nationalities, religions, races, etc. These labels have institutionalized and organized the divisions among members of the human race.
Paul Robeson travelled to Russia in the mid 1930s. There he was quoted as saying, "I felt for the first time a full human being. No color prejudice like in Mississippi, no color prejudice like in Washington."
