Painting - Oil On Canvas
Description
A symbolic painting representing the quest to find one's true self. This is based on an experience I had, a number of years ago, at the Light Institute in Galisteo, New Mexico. Each individual can interpret this painting based on their own perceptions. To some it may appear that it represents looking outside of one's self for answers. Searching for 'Merlin'. To others, it may appear as an introspective journey. Traveling deep within one's own being. To find, their inner 'Merlin'.

Love the dark shadows of deep in a forest, Susan. It forms a lovely contrast with the white horse and its rider's attire. What a place to just BE. I can feel the cool shade, hear the birds and breeze through the trees, and sense the peace and serenity away from a chaotic world outside....fav / like

I really like this one a lot Susan. It has such a soft, dreamlike feel to it. It is a very inviting mood... encouraging exploration. Simply wonderful work (as usual!).

Thanks Lucinda. I had an experience where I was actually looking for Merlin and this was my depiction of that.

Thank you Veikko. I also like the hint of a horse near the woman in the background and a profile of a lion in the foreground. I noticed them after I took this photo.
